ROSE OTTO VS ROSE ABSOLUTE

Rose Essential oil is known as Rose Otto, obtained through steam distillation, is lighter in color and much thinner in viscosity. Rose Absolute is in contrast obtained through solvent extraction which is darker in color deep orange reddish, thicker in viscosity and rich in fragrance than Rose Essential oil. Both oils smell floral and sweet with an intense, concentrated rose aroma.

While Rose Essential oil is a mainly preferred oil for topical aromatherapy applications, Rose Absolute is often favored by fragrance formulators and perfumeries for its deep fragrance and aromatic strength.
